"A Bad Penny" Encased that is!

I acquired this piece on eBay a year or so ago and don't recall who the seller is. The seller did not mention in the auction's description that the cent was a replaced coin nor did he lead me to believe that it was the original either. There was no suggestion that it may have been a non-original cent in the encasement, as it would have been an honorable thing to do as far as I am concerned. My favorite encased cents, and generally what I look for in an encased coin, is a unique coin, very old mintage date, or unique shape of encasement. With this in mind, had the seller confirmed or suggested that the Flying Eagle Cent was not the original, I most likely would have made every effort to win the auction anyway.
The photo in the listing that I bid on did not show what I felt were obvious hammer marks around the edge of the encasement where it meets the coin, found after examining this specimen closely. (Judge for yourself). My photos above are shot at a significantly higher resolution than the original seller's were as posted in the auction. I made no effort to complain, question, or get a refund, and I most likely will keep this in my small collection of unique encased coins.
