What's Happening

From the desk of your Secretary

DECEMBER 22/04 - Well it's almost time for Saint Nick to make his appearance and the celebration of our first anniversary in February 2005. We have come a long way in nearly a year and I wish to take this opportunity to thank all those who have given unselfishly of their time and resources in the furtherance of our cause.

- We have opened the ECI Store with a few items for sale. As is and will be the case in the future, there will be some ECI produced pieces available nowhere else but through the store. Those who do not visit our website often will miss opportunities to acquire certain limited issues as they will not be promoted elsewhere.

- In the future as ECI issues it's own encased coins and offers special introductory pricing to the membership, only those who have supported the club with subscribing to previous issues will be notified by e-mail. In the event that any issue is not a sell-out through this one time limited offer, the remainder will be auctioned on eBay and listed in the ECI Store at regular retail, offering no discounts.

- Wishing for everyone all this special time of the year has to offer...Cecil

DECEMBER 12/04 - As everyone has heard by now, ECI has released it's first encased coins. READ THE 12/10/04 NEWSMAIL FOR THE DETAILS. Following are their attributions:

NOVEMBER 18/04 - Heard from member Steve Swingenstein #123 today and he says, "I'm so tense, relaxing makes me nervous!" Is there a doctor in the house?

- Good news! So far we have raised nearly $350.00 through our eBay auctions towards making our first encased coins. We wish to thank the following members for their contributions to the cause. Hossien Pheifeir #68 who started us off, Derek McDonough #90, Mike Macuga #23, Bob Nevins #65, Chuck Berger #2, Steve Drake #3, Ray Kurtz #85, Jack Smith #49, Vic Nolan #18 , Jim Lawniczak #17 and all great those members who have been bidding. We couldn't do it with out all of you. Thanks,  Cecil & Jerry.

-One of my all time favorite calling cards is that of Bob Slawsky's #36.

NOVEMBER 1/04 - Our first month doing auctions on eBay was good beginning. We raised $77.09 towards die cost for our soon to be issued (hopefully) first encased coin. I want to thank Derek McDonough #90, Mike Macuga #23, Bob Nevins #65, Hossien Pheifeir #68 and Charleston Mint for their generous donations. If you have extra pieces you would like to contribute, you may contact Jerry Ferrell #93 HERE for further information.

-Just a reminder: Don't forget to take advantage of Charleston Mint's generous offer to make ECI members an ECI encased cent pocket mirror with their name, State and membership number for only $5. s&h included. So far 35 members have done so.
