Being a part of the encased coin
collecting society is no different. We each in our own way have something to
give to the hobby which will maintain it and provide for its growth and future.
Some present at shows, some research, some manufacture, some share their love of
the hobby with a friend. These are all signs of a vibrant community coming
together for the preservation of our hobby.
There is, however, another sign of a vibrant community which most of us
overlook. That sign is so obvious you might wonder why comment on it. I comment
on it (a) because it is necessary, and (b) because it is our
proverbial 800 pound gorilla in the room…it’s so big most of us don’t see it.
One important ECI goal has been to offer newly encased coins on a regular basis
to members. The encased Presidents and Sacagawea pieces happen to be my
favorites but I’m afraid the Canadian pieces have a part of my heart as well.
And now the new Lincolns are hot off the encased press as well. I’d like to see
this commitment continue; I enjoy seeing the new coins encased.
However, like many artistic endeavors, it takes money to keep these projects
funded. Here’s where you come in. Here’s where you have another chance to become
part of something bigger than yourself. Here’s where you can support our club so
that these programs can continue to capture today’s coins for tomorrow’s
hobbyists. Take a few moments to shop at your ECI Store. Find a special piece
for your collection or an interesting gift for a friend . This will help us to
maintain our club’s goals. We need your support.
